October 18th fly tying - Laser Minnow

KFF monthly fly tying session
Monday, October 18, 2021

6:30pm
Rapides Westside Library, 5416 Provine, Alexandria
Also livestreamed on Zoom and YouTube

* Currently, masks are required of all individuals when indoors at the library

* Remote members can participate via the Zoom app on any PC, tablet, or smartphone.  Enter the meeting ID and password to join in.  Email Bill Morrison to request.

For this session, Jim Johnson will lead us in tying a version of Brian Wise’s Laser Minnow. This is a simple and easy to tie small baitfish pattern that should work well for almost any situation where fish are feeding on smaller bait.  The fly is mostly laser dub, and we will use the same laser dub stacking and tying techniques we used for the Sandbar Mullet last month. If you missed that tie, this is a great opportunity to learn more about tying with laser dub.

As always, beginners and guests are welcome! For Zoom participants, materials will be mailed out in advance. For those in attendance, materials will be distributed.  For those who don't have vises and tools, the club has sets for use during the session.
