There are several reasons to tie flies:
- only a tiny fraction of all fly patterns are sold in stores or online
- you are not limited to what you can create, the sizes or the colors
- tying flies is transcendental.
- There's nothing more gratifying than catching a fish on a fly you tied!
Hosted by the Kisatchie Fly Fishers, this FREE beginners fly tying course is a great foundation to the art of fly tying. In this one-day workshop, you'll learn about the tools, types of materials and techniques required to get started successfully in tying flies. We'll then tie at least 3 simple flies that are effective for local waters, with each demonstrating different techniques.
FT101 is open to all ages. If you have tying tools, please bring them. If not, we have tying tools available for use during this session. Materials and handouts will be provided.. Refreshments will also be provided.
Attendees can also sign up for 2021 membership in Kisatchie Fly Fishers
at a special discount rate of only $10. Becoming a member of KFF is a
great way to build on the fundamentals of this workshop!
